Event 11: Pete Moffatt - 1st Place

$200 + $30 Big Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Pete Moffatt - 1st Place - $38,374

Congratulations to Pete Moffatt (Philadelphia, PA) who had the chip lead for much of the final table and just took down Event 11. Pete wins the 2011 Borgata Summer Open trophy and the top prize of $38,374.

Pete the poker shark couldn't have done it without his shark card protector. "My son loves sharks" said Pete who wanted to say hello to his kids, Jack & Cole who are following the blog at home and will probably be waking up shortly.

Pete finished 7th in a 2011 Borgata Winter Poker Open Event and was determined to return today, go deeper, and not make the same mistakes he made at that final table.

To me he seemed like the table captain, controlling his emotions, getting information from other players, having a solid table image, and making key lay-downs - like JJ even though he was ahead.

He uses poker to supplement his income as a Day Trader in Philly. This Borgata semi-pro player plans to back to defend and continue his winning ways.

He won a nine million dollar pot when his A-J toppled Joe Dittmar's 10-10 on a board of A-5-2-J-9. Once he took that pot there was no looking back.
