Event 12: 2nd - Angel Modica

$400 + $50 Six-Max NLH

Angel "Pinky" Modica - 2nd Place - $10,193

Angel Modica had several people rooting for him on the rail including his Mother Maria.

A bit of a roller-coaster day for Pinky who saw his stack drop to 1500 on level 3, then he managed to re-build and become the first player to reach 180,000. After securing the chip lead, he dipped back down to 30,000. When the bubble was about to burst, Angel was the shortest stack in the room. Somehow he build back again and made the final table.

Heads up against Scott Wardell was a battle since Scott had him 3 to 1 in chips. Modica regrets folding A-10 after pre-flop raises and re-raises, especially since Scott claims he only had A-4.

In the last hand of the tournament, Angel had 7-7 against Scott's A-9.

After doubling up the previous hand with 6-7 of spades, it looked like Modica was re-building yet again - especially when the board showed 5-Q-4-6...

Then an ace slammed the felt and gave the tournament to Wardell.

Pinky was disheartened but hopefully the $10,193 second place prize money will cheer him up.
