Event 14 Recap

$1000 + $90 ($10K Cash) Super Satellite

Event 14 is in the books. What a great way to kick off Borgata’s Big money poker weekend.

Nine highly skilled Borgata no limit holdem players each share equally in $100,000.

That’s $10,000 per person plus the tenth place finisher, John Kostelac who takes home $8,940.

Before we reveal who the top nine finishers were, lets rewind to 11:00 AM where 102 players ponied up $1,000 + $90 for 15,000 starting chips and a chance to win $10,000 through this Borgata Super Satellite Main Event.

Borgata notables James Boyle, Sheree Bykofsky, Barry Leventhal, Leonardo Palermo, and Leanne Rosenblatt all took a shot but failed to go deep this time.

Everyone loved seeing Hollywood Actor / Poker Player, James Woods who had a ton of compliments for the Borgata staff and the tournament structure. James didn’t cash, but did have a fun time playing again here at Borgata.

Even though the field was primarily men, it was still impressive that May Siu went deep and took down another Last Woman Standing honor.

A key hand came when Andrew Esposito rivered a straight flush for a needed double up early on. Andrew continued to run well when necessary. With two tables left, he survived every all in when he was short stacked and about to be blinded out on the bubble.

Almost simultaneously over at the other table, in two hands practically back to back, two players, Jim Farrell and Mark Borges both tripled up and extended their tournament at least another hour. Alas, Mark Borges once again became short stacked and went out as the bubble in 11th place for no money.

That left the final ten celebrating. It only took five hands at the final table before John Kostelac’s A-K fell to Chris Broz’ Q-10.

The final 9 winners included, Adam Cook, Jim Farrell, Maxx Dansky, Chris Broz, Dan Spanton, Mike “Unbelievable” Dentale, Fritz Stoner, Al Kinder, and Andrew Esposito.

Once again each player takes home $10,000 for their finish in the 2011 Borgata Summer Poker Open Event 14.

Congratulations to everyone who won. All had an excellent and exciting time playing in this tournament which wrapped up after 2AM.
