Event 16: Another Kind of Caller

$2500 + $200 Championship NLH

No Triv-ial Story

Mike Trivisonno (Lyndhurst, OH) has a great story to tell his radio fans in Cleveland, even if he doesn't win the Championship Event.

Trivisonno was involved in last night's huge hand where he was knocked out with pocket queens, on a deal where pocket kings and pocket aces were also dealt.  "I've never seen anything like it," says Triv, as he's known by his listeners.  "There are only 6 players, it's not like we had a full table."

It turns out the player with pocket kings folded the "winner" after all the heavy action in front of him and the short stack tripled-up, all while the aces knocked out Trivisonno in the side pot.

Triv has a couple of WSOP cashes and says he takes vacation time to play at Borgata twice a year.  He hosts the afternoon drive time on WTAM AM 1100 and sees lots of similarities between the callers at the table and on his show.

"It's all about the same, they're all nuts," he says after 20+ years in the business with no aspirations of pursuing his poker hobby full time.  "Radio is too easy, it's like stealing."

As for bouncing back from the 6-max cooler he says, "that's the great thing about Texas hold'em. There's always another tournament."

After the first 6 levels of the championship event, Triv has 35k.
