Event 16: Laydown Of The Tournament

$2500 + $200 Championship NLH

These players are some of the best in the world and they prove it hand by hand.

Brian Altman and Andrew Klein get into what seems like an innocent enough hand.

Flop comes down Q-J-J rainbow.

Both players check.

Turn card another J.

Bet and a call - nothing out of the ordinary.

River falls 10 of spades.

Andrew raises but is warned that his raise looks a lot like a check.

Brian re-raises 125,000.

Andrew ships his stack all-in and has Brian covered.

Brian tanks hard and long with 640,000 behind. He tries to gain information, "Do you got the jack?" To which Andrew quickly responds, "I don't think you got the queen."

Brian says, "I fold" and flips over a Queen. The table and the crowd are dying to see Andrew's cards. Andrew realizes the drama of the moment and says, "For the blog".

He turns over J-5 and indeed did hit quads.

A tournament saving laydown from Brian and a great scoop for Andrew.

You have to ask yourself if you can make that sort of laydown at that point in the tournament after hitting to full-house on the board.
